BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya calls Anju and Seema Haider ‘Vishbala’, says Pakistan hatching conspiracy

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, a BJP MP from Bhopal, called Indian citizen Anja and Pakistani citizen Seema Haider as "Vishbala" (poisonous girl) and raised a Pakistani conspiracy angle around the two women in the entire episode.

While Seema Haider came to India from Pakistan through the Nepal border, Anju, an Indian national, sneaked into Pakistan on a valid visa and married her boyfriend Nasrullah from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

BJP MP Pragya Thakur called the two women a 'poisonous girl' while a conspiracy angle was explored on the two women crossing the line and defying their family. She made the remarks outside Parliament during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

“Everybody knows what Pakistan is doing with India...this is (Anju and Seema Haider's) Pakistani conspiracy. The way they are calling and sending 'Visbalas', it is a big conspiracy and soon we will expose this conspiracy,” said Sadhvi Pragya. She added, “This is the old India where people from foreign countries are spreading terrorism. This is Modi ji's Bharat which will respond precisely."

This is not the first time that a BJP MP has created controversy with her statements. Earlier, Pragya had created a controversy when she called Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse a "desh bhakt".

In another stir ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Pragya compared late Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare to Ravan. Karkare was killed during the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. She had Karkare killed when he was cursed for her arrest in connection with the 2008 Malegaon blast case.

In 2020, she alleged that opposition leaders may have practiced black magic against top BJP leaders. Her statement came after the death of two BJP leaders, including Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj.
